ED ignores Middle School Nahoti 1/4/2015 11:56:14 PM Ajay Sharma Jammu, Jan 4: The casual approach of the State Education Department can be gauged from the fact that construction of three rooms building at Government Middle School Nahoti at Panchayat Nalla Makol of district Rajouri has not been completed for the last two years. Sources told Early Times that nearly two years ago a construction of a building comprised of three rooms was started at Government Middle School Nahoti at the cost of Rs 7.45 lakhs. The work of allotted to a private contractor and the completion of the building had to be completed within the period of the six months. "As per government order the construction of the building has to be completed within the six months but it has been more than two years the building is still incomplete," sources alleged further adding that it was the sole duty of the concerned headmaster to supervise the work and ensure the completion of the building within stipulated time period. They alleged that the headmaster of the school Ishar Das did not take cognizance of the work of the school building carrying out by the contractor as a result the work got delayed and surpassed the scheduled time period. Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Ravinder Khajuria taking the issue serious said he would personally visit the spot tomorrow himself and will take appropriate action on the headmaster. Meanwhile, Chief Education Officer Rajouri KH Hani while talking to the Early Times correspondent assured stringent action against the official concerned and said that he will direct the concerned ZEO to inspect the school building and report him to at the earliest. He said that on getting reports he will take action. Meanwhile, a toilet cum bathroom was constructed in the school in 2011 but it remained functional for only two months and then got blocked but due to negligence on the part of the headmaster the toilet has not been repaired till.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
