GoI urges BJP to speed up govt formation in JK | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 3: The increased tension along the border, in which one person has died and about a dozen injured, has forced the BJP to step up the process of the government formation. According to sources, the Central government has told the BJP leadership that government should be formed soon as there is possibility of escalation of tension. According to sources, an elected government should be there at the earliest to provide relief to the people. "There is strong possibility that firing could escalate. An elected government has to be there to provide relief to the people as elected representatives are much more connected to their constituencies and people have easy access to them than the officials," said a senior BJP central leader. The BJP is already in the final stages of the talks and the process has been stepped up. Sources said in fact the firing along the border makes India to call for resumption of dialogues, which the Mufti Sayeed has put one of the conditions. "The home minister has already said the Pakistan should stop firing and resume dialogues, this is exactly what Mufti and PDP has said," said a senior Central government official, who is privy to the development. The BJP understand that if the firing continues for much longer period than people along the border will face casualty like in Pakistan but it could also than the public pressure to halt the firing if the figures start to go up. "India is not like Israel. The public is though supportive of the strong reaction but if the figures of the people dying start going up then there could be all around protests. In Pakistan many people are dying daily so for their establishment death of one or two people is not much an issue but in India it is and it is" said the source. |
