CAPD conducts surprise inspection; realizes Rs 1200 lakh as fine

Jammu, Jan 3: Based on the complaints of black marketing, hoarding and profiteering, an enforcement team of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department under the supervision of Director CAPD, Jammu G S Chib conducted a surprise inspection and inspected twenty establishments while realizing fine up to the tune of Rs 1200 from erring traders here in Nowashera.
The enforcement team comprising TSO Som Dutt, storekeeper Jasbeer Sigh and SHO Nowshera Kuldeep Raj conducted a surprise inspection and found 12 shops were indulged in the illegal business of profiteering and black-marketing and accordingly fine was imposed to them.
Warning was also served to the shopkeepers to resist such practice.The complaint in this connection was filed by a NGO namely 'We Care Society'.
