NMC appeals PM for releasing pending DA installment | | | Early Time Report
Jammu, Jan 3 : President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) appealed Prime Minister to announce and release pending installment of 6 percent DA due from January in favour of center and state government employees at next union meeting. According to press release, Subash Shastri said a memorandum also sent to PM of India that salaried class was facing a lot of economic hardships due to high inflation and price rise and the early release of DA would be genuine measure to provide some relief to them. "The delay in the release of DA would not only put burden on the central government exchequer to liquidate the arrears but also increase the difficulties of employees and pensioners," he said, adding stressing for formulating a National Pay Policy throughout the country. He demanded for declaring 7th pay commission as a "National Pay Commission" which should cover both central and state government employees and pensioners. He further demanded merger of 50 per cent DA of central and state government employees and pensioners into their basic pay and pension at the earliest. He also demanded enhancement in the wages of daily wagers to Rs 10,000 per month at the national level, regularization of all daily wagers, grant disturbed area allowance, declare Jammu and Srinagar as B-I cities, enhance income tax limit to Rs. 5 lacs total exemption of DA from Income Tax include Jammu City in the list of 100 Smart Cities. |
