Kashmiri youth looted in Delhi | | | Early Time Report
Srinagar, Jan 3 : He had gone to Udaipur for seeking admission in Ph.D but he never knew that he would be abducted and looted in broad daylight while coming back . Post-graduate in philosophy, Mujtaba Bashir of Watrehail Lassipora,Budgam, went to Pacific University, Udaipur, Rajasthan, on December 22 to seek admission in Ph.D. While coming back after submitting his documents, he got down from the train at Nizamudin railway station in New Delhi on December 25 at around 9.30 am. He wanted to visit some historic places in New Delhi before moving back to Kashmir. He was waiting at Nizamudin for a bus to Red Fort when a young man came towards him and introduced himself as a car spare parts dealer from Pune. "This man told me that he was unaware of the routes in Delhi. He also told me that he wanted to visit Red Fort but didn't know which route to follow. We both waited for the bus for some time but later I preferred to hire an autorickshaw. This man requested that he be allowed to sit with him as his destination was also Red Fort," he said. While heading towards Red Fort, the autoricksha driver allowed another stranger to board the three-wheeler. When Mujtaba objected, the driver said that in Delhi it was a common thing that one auto is shared by more than two persons. "While travelling the strangers offered me some eatables which I refused to take. On their insistence, I ate a bit and within no time I felt like losing my senses. Now I could smell that something was fishy. Before I could jump out of the autoricksha along with my baggage , they sprayed something near my nose and I became unconscious within no time," he added When Mujtaba became conscious again , he found himself near a Shamshan Ghat. After some time, a few people, who were working as wood cutters near the shamshan ghat , brought him inside their rented room. Mujtaba's parents were contacted and he was flown to Srinagar the very next day. Cash amounting to Rs 12,000, a cell phone, clothes and a bag were taken away by the strangers. Mujtaba has now filed a compliant with Budgam police . The Delhi police has also been informed about the case and the investigation is on according to Budgam police . "I appeal all people not to allow sharing of auto-rickshaw , nor should we accept any eatables from strangers during our travel. Thank God I am alive," Mujtaba said. |
