Parkash Utsav celebrated with fervour | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 7: Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj was celebrated with religious fervour enthusiasm special congregations and celebrations were held in all the Gurdwaras of Jammu District on Wednesday. The main celebrations were organized at Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar Jammu by the District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Jammu. Where in large number of devotees participated. On this occasion Ragi Jatha's from Shri Darbar Sahib (Sri Amritsar) and other places recited Gurbani Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa (Padam Shri) Shri Amritsar, Bhai Satinder Vir Singh (Sri Amritsar) among others recitedly Gurbani and Sangat was spell bound by their Melodious voice and music. Singh Sahib Gyam Maan Singh (Head Granthi) Sri Darbar Sahib (Shri Amritsar) threw light on the Sikh History and golden realism of Sikhism. At this occasion demanded for holiday on the eve of Birthday of Sri Guru Gobind Singh under negotiable instrument Act, permanent settlement of 1947 POK uprooted families, reservation in government, jobs, representation of Sikh in the State Ministry, SSB and PSC, appointment of a minority commission. Arrangements of Guru-Ka-Langar were also made wherein thousands of devotees took the Langar Prasad. Divisional Commissioner, Jammu and Chairman District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Shantmanu assisted by District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee members and other functionaries were personally supervising the arrangement of celebration. Dalip Singh expressed gratitude to Shantmanu under whose directions and guidance all the departments of district, extended their co-operation during Nagar Kirtan and Gurpurab celebrations.
