RAJOURI, Jan 7: Though Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is no more in the state after poll results have been declared yet District Administration Rajouri has allegedly failed to provide necessary relief to victims of natural calamity (floods) that struck the state in the month of last September. The inhabitants of village Karar in Darhal tehsil held a protest demonstration before the office of Deputy Commissioner on Tuesday against the authorities and alleged that four months have passed but they didn't get any relief. Many flood victims alleged they are still spending nights in the tents and especially their elders, women and children facing many problems due to harsh cold waves during nights. "Many children and elders have fell sick due to cold waves and despite announcements by the state government they have not received yet free ration for 6 months" said Haji Masood. Another protester Mohd Saqir said that they will come on the roads in the future in favor of their demands if the district administration failed to provide the necessary relief material and free ration to these flood victims within in next few days. Mohd Salim Malik, Additional DC (ADC) while replying to media queries in this regard, said that relief material have been provided to every victim in the district .
"Those who are actual flood victims and have not received any relief material they must approach the concerned officials for necessary relief material" said ADC Rajouri.
