| Congress committed for equitable development of all three regions of state Tara Chand | | | Early Times Report
Khour, Jan 7: Former Deputy Chief Minister, three times MLA and senior Congress leader, Tara Chand on Wednesday said that "Congress' is committed for equitable development of all the three regions as well as sub-regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. Addressing a gathering of party workers, former Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand greeted the people on Gurpurab and highlighted that Congress party has always kept its focus on holistic development. He also hoped that newly elected Legislator will carry forward the development agenda initiated by him in past 18 years in future as well in Khour Assembly segment. He also expressed gratitude to the electorates, who polled their vote in his favour. Enlisting the work done by Congress party especially for Khour Block, Tara Chand highlighted that right from zero percent road connectivity to almost 100 per cent road connectivity, from rarely few Primary and Middle schools to numerous High, Higher Secondary Schools and a much awaited Degree College, construction of sub-District Hospital, taking power supply and drinking water to the village level are just few examples of contribution of Congress party for the poor people of this remote and border belt. Former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand further assured that "that the spree of development in the Khour Assembly constituency will continue with same speed as it was in the past. Even if newly elected Legislator needs our support for over all development of Constituency, I will extend full support." The senior Congress leader also highlighted that Congress Government ensured that all regions and sections of the society were treated with equity, fairness and justice. During the period of this party, the country and State progressed steadfastly in all sectors", Tara Chand said, adding that the party has multi-pronged planning and strategy to deal with the issues of unemployment, poverty and upliftment of weaker sections of the society.
The programmes and policies of the Congress are people friendly and millions of poor people have availed benefits of these schemes", he added. "Some of the divisive forces, who are trying to fragment us and divide people for their own political interests are enemies of this State and its future generation", he said while cautioning the people and urged them to remain united. Later, on the request of Block Congress Committee and party workers, Tara Chand announced to continue monthly meetings in Khour Assembly segment so that Khour continues to be on development spree. |
