Dr Jitendra Singh chairs Vigilance, Monitoring Committee meet at Kathua
Visits relief camp at Hiranagar

KATHUA, Jan 7: Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Dr. Jitendra Singh chaired a meeting of Vigilance and Monitoring Committee here today.
Newly elected Members of Legislative Assembly Rajiv Jasrotia, Dr Nirmal Singh, Ch. Lal Singh, Jewan Lal and Kuldeep Raj were present in the meeting.
Giving brief about the physical and financial achievement during the current year under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes and Programmes launched in the district, the District Development Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal also presented a Power Point Presentation of various works being executed by the concerned departments.
The Chairman, on the occasion, appreciated the DDC for being elected for National Award for best practices in conduct of Lok Sabha Elections-2014. He hailed the DDC and pinned hope that the administration under his command will achieve more such feats in coming time.
Various schemes and programmes which were discussed in the meeting inter alia include MGNREGA, IAY, RHS, Total Sanitation Campaign , PMGSY, National Rural Health Mission, National Rural Drinking Water Supply Programme, Swarn Jayanti Garmin Swarozgar Yojana, DRDA-ADM, Integrated Watershed Management Programme, National Land Records Modernization Programme and National Social Assistance Programme .
Dr Jitender Singh also reviewed the pace of works being executed under MPLADS.
While throwing light on the initiatives taken by the District Administration, Dr Jitender Singh appreciated the DDC for initiating land identification process measuring 3100 kanals for 5000 Border Firing affected families within short span of time.
Earlier, the Union Minister visited various relief camps established for border firing affected families at Hiranagar. He also informed that Rs 5 Lakh has been issued under MPLAD Fund for the help of border firing victims' families.
Among others, SSP Pawan Parihar, besides Chief Planning Officer, ACD, Chief Education Officer, District Information Officer, Project Officer DRDA, XENs of PWD, PHE, PDD, Irrigation and Flood Control, other District officer and Panchs and Sarpanchs.
