PEEU lambasts Govt for not releasing pending wages of need based workers | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 3: Provincial Electrical Employees Union (PEEU) state government not releasing pending wages of need based workers engaged PDD. A protest demonstration was held near Rajinder Park Jammu under the chairmanship of P.C Sharma President of union where hundreds of need based workers casual labourers and other employees participated the programme and raised slogans against govt, for not releasing the long pending wages of need based workers and amendment in SRO 520 of 2017. Later a procession was taken out towards Chief Engineer EM&RE office Jammu and met with the Chief Engineer with a big delegation for getting his response on the memorandum already submitted to him in the month of January in concern of the demands of these workers. While speaking on the occasion P.C Sharma said that 3405 need based workers are working on crucial assignments like lineman and SBA's in the department and they are running 10-15 sub stations each with full risk of their lives. But till date govt, including PDD authorities have not made any budgetary provisions for the payment of their long pending wages of 5-10 years. These daily wagers were in hope for their bright future but now they have become discouraged while feeling their future in shamble. |
