Militant, OGW arrested in Sopore: Police | | | Mohammad Sarfaraz

BARAMULLA, Apr 3: Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a militant and an OGW of Ansar Gazwatul Hind from Hygam area of Sopore in this North Kashmir district. A senior police officer said that acting on a specific input about the movement of the militants of Ansar Gazwatul Hind led by Zakir Musa at Chek Hygam in Sopore a joint team of army and SOG launched searches and arrested the two activists. The official identified the militant as Parvaiz Ahmad of Dadsara-Tral, Awantipora and an OGW as Aamir of Bohoo, Awantipora. "Arms and ammunition including two hand grenades and one pistol were recovered from their possession," the police official said. The official said that the duo was planning to recruit fresh youth in the outfit in North Kashmir. Sources said that a local militant from Awantipora was held along with an OGW by joint team of Army's 52 RR, SOG Sopore at Chek Hygam area of Sopore. A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations initiated. |
