Jammu, Apr 3: A workshop on the topic "Encouraging discipline in teenagers" was organized today at Delhi Public School Nagbani, Jammu - (West). It was conducted by the Principal of the school R. K. Verma. The purpose of the workshop was to enable teachers understand their students and maintain classroom discipline. Discipline is essential for helping the teenagers in the growth of individual personality, for giving them the feeling of security, a sense of confidence and the knowledge of the boundaries of their freedom. In order to obtain discipline, the teachers should be familiar with the curriculum, plan the lesson well and conduct the lesson well. The teachers must take proper care of motivation, orientation, presentation, participation, application and evaluation. The workshop proved to be very informative and the teachers thanked Verma for sharing his views with them. Undoubtedly, problems of class room discipline will disappear if there are efficient teachers. As is well said by Cunningham, "Only strong personalities survive this test of maintaining discipline", he added. M K Ajatshatru Singh - Chairman/Sole Trustee, Kr.
