| S&O JEs of PDD denied benefits under SRO 14 and 18 | | To approach Governor's Grievance Cell | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Jan 23: The Junior Engineers of Power Development Department have been denied benefits of SRO 18 of 1998 dated 19/1/98 and SRO 14 of 1996 dated 15/1/96.
A delegation of the JEs of S&O Wing said they have been put to monetary loss after being denied benefits under the aforementioned SROs.
The SROs laid down that JEs after completing eight years of service have to be put in the higher grade of 4260 ubnder SRO 18 and after successful completion of nine years the JEs are provided in -situ promotion where in they are promoted in next higher grade with the benefit of an additional increment.
However, despite clear guidelines of the SROs, the JEs of S&O Wing have been denied the benefits for unknown reasons.
The delegation said the papers are pending in the accounts section of the wing where the accounts officer has been delaying the process un-necessarily. Pertinent to mention, other wings of the department have given the benefits to all the JEs who have fulfilled the criterion laid down by the SROs.
The delegation said the other departments including PHE, PWD,R7B , Mechanical wing have given the JEs what is due to them.
The aggrieved JEs have urged the concerned authorities to do the needful. The delegation said the aggrieved JEs were considering approaching the Governor's Grievance Cell.
Neither the Chief Engineer nor the Accounts Officer of the S&O Wing was available for comment. |
