Poonch, Jan 23: High profile absenteeism has been on rise in this border district, sources said.
They said the new culture of high profile absenteeism was giving a tough time to locals throughout the district. People come from far off villages for redressal of their grievances but return disappointed as the babus rarely remain in their offices,. It is pertinent to mention here that high level officers including SDMs, Tehsildars and others have been found absent from the duty unauthorizedly for days together putting the daily visitors to their offices to inconvenience. Several people while talking to Early Times alleged that the present situation of entire Poonch district is worst due to high level officers absenteeism culture which is going on under the nose of district authorities.
They further said that low rank employees remaining usually absent from their duty was a common phenomena in government offices but responsible tehsil and sub division officers including tehsildar and SDMs have also adopted absenteeism culture in Poonch district. They said perhaps it flourished due to the fact that lower rank officials know that their officers to follow the same line so no one can raise finger towards them but they forget that common villagers suffers most at their hands.
Some locals suggested that district authority should constitute a special team to look into the high profile absenteeism culture and initiate necessary action against the public servants for being no serious towards their duties they added. |
