Zulfikar all set to 'ditch' Mehbooba's PDP
Making desperate attempts to join Congress, forgets how he enforced Kashmir centric agenda in Jammu

Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 23: Zulfikar Choudhary who was a powerful cabinet minister in the PDP led coalition government is trying hard to join the Congress party, sources told Early Times.
He was the man who forced the Mehbooba Mufti to issued directions to police and district administrations not to provide "police protection" for anti-encroachment drives that were being carried out by government departments against the encroachers without prior approval of the tribal affairs department. Mehbooba Mufti's directive not only gave immunity to the encroachers in Jammu but also encouraged more people to encroach land in Jammu region.
Zulfikar motivated then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to issue such an order which created a wedge between two communities in the Jammu region.
When the MLC Vikramaditya Singh son of senior Congress leader Karan Singh and grandson of the last Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh resigned from the PDP Zulfikar Chaudary went on record to say that he (Singh) was a "liability" on the PDP and he welcomed his resignation. Though Mehbooba stripped him (Zulfikar) of the portfolio of the Information department but gave him a free hand to handle tribal affairs ministry.
When Zulfikar was the minister he left no opportunity to appease Mehbooba Mufti and other Kashmir centric leaders. He tried his best to facilitate the implementation of PDP's Kashmir centric agenda in Jammu region. "Zulfikar has realized that PDP is a sinking ship and it's no point sticking with a party which has no political future," said a politician.
He said Zulfikar has changed his colour like a "chameleon" and is trying hard to move towards the green pasture i.e. the Congress party. "People of Jammu will never forget the role which Zulfikar played as a minister. He tried his best to undermine the people of Jammu region by being a part of the conspiracies which were hatched to keep the people of Jammu under control," the politician added.
He said that Zulfikar "ditching" PDP in the "hour of crisis" should serve as an eye opener for Mehbooba Mufti, who sidelined the people like Vikramaditya Singh and empowered the little known leaders, whose only aim was self promotion.
