| Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 4 animals rescued | | |
SAMBA, May 29: Continuing its drive against the bovine smuggling in the area, District Police Samba has foiled bovine smuggling bid after arresting the smuggler and rescuing 4 animals at SIDCO Chowk, Bari Brahmana under the jurisdiction of P/S Bari Brahmana.
During the intervening night of May 28 and 29, a Police Party of P/S Bari Brahmana during vehicle checking Naka at SIDCO Chowk, Bari Brahmana intercepted one Mahindra vehicle bearing Registraion No JK14D-9629 which was coming from Kathua side moving towards Srinagar via Bari Brahmana. During checking of the vehicle 4 bovines were found tied with ropes in a very cruel manner inside the vehicle being transported illegally without any permission.
The accused driver identified as Makhan Din son of Mohd Yousaf of Balole Khad, Bari Brahmana was arrested on the spot and vehicle used was also seized. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 67/2019 U/S 188/RPC 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Bari Brahmana and investigation started. |
