No ambulance for poor patients in Kishtwar | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report Kishtwar, May 29: A day after Early Times carried a report on how an ambulance was used for transportation of official goods, a poor patient from Palmar area of Kishtwar was Wednesday denied ambulance for shifting him to Jammu. However, due to timely intervention of the media persons, the hospital authorities were forced to arrange an ambulance. As per the details available with Early Times, a pregnant lady hailing from Palmar area of Kishtwar was on Tuesday admitted in the District Hospital Kishtwar where she had a caesarean delivery. But the newly born developed some medical complications and the family was advised by the doctors at District Hospital Kishtwar to shift the infant as well as the woman to SMHS Hospital Jammu for advanced treatment. The family members said the hospital authorities took their request with regard to providing an ambulance for shifting the patient and the infant lightly. They said that after finding no help, they brought the matter into the notice of local media persons who took up the matter with Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana. The DC put the official machinery on notice following which the hospital authorities arranged an ambulance and shifted the mother-baby duo to Jammu after delay of several hours. |
