PDP got mere 1800 votes in Khansahib Assembly segment
5/29/2019 11:43:53 PM
Early Times Report

Srinagar, May 29: The PDP performance in Khansahib constituency has remained very poory getting only 1800 votes inspite of the fact that local leader and former MLA , Hakim Yasin had not fielded any candidate from his party JK Peoples Democratic Front (PDF).
Sources told Early Times that PDP Lok Sabha candidate from Srinagar parliamentary seat Aga Mohsin who himself hails from district Budgam could only get 1800 votes from the Khansahib assembly segment which until recently was a very stronghold of PDP. Sources say that after resignation of local PDP leader Saifudin Bhat from basic membership of party , PDP is loosing its grip in Khansahib area.
" I am shocked to see that Peoples Conference candidate from Srinagar -Budgam Ganderbal lok sabha seat Irfan Ansari managed to get more than 3400 votes in Khansahib while as National Conference which had been number 3 in 2014 assembly polls got more than sixteen thousand votes. PDP which had got 25000 plus votes in 2014 got mere 1800 votes out of which 800 to 1000 votes were the committed shia votes of Aga Mohsin . PDP needs to empower local young leaders of the party and announce the name of candidate soon so that party can again get strengthened in our constituency " said Bashir Ahmad senior PDP worker from Khansahib
Sources say that PDP is losing it grip in Khansahib as well like Chadoora and Charar sharief where the party suffered major jolt as NC took a huge lead in both these assembly segments in recent lok sabha polls.
As reported already once considered to be relatively a stronghold of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the party is in severe leadership crisis in central Kashmir's Budgam district as party has lost miserably in all the four assembly segments of the district during recently concluded lok sabha elections. Party workers in Chadoora and Charar e Sharief are said to be switching their allegiance towards National Conference in any areas.
Sources say that Saifudin Bhat who has not yet joined NC formally supported Dr Farooq Abdullah in the recently concluded lok sabha polls. Dr Farooq is said to have some internal understanding with Hakim Yasin whose workers in many villages voted in favour of NC but Yasin's workers are said to have voted for Peoples Conference candidate as well in many villages that is the reason PC got more than 3400 votes in Khansahib assembly segment.
Many locals criticize Saifudin Bhat for ditching PDP who empowered him a lot by making him member of legislative council (MLC). " Bhat is not a trustworthy man , Mufti sahib made him MLC from his quota after he lost MLA and MLC election both , He has deceived the party " said Bashir Ahmad a PDP worker from Arizal Khansahib.
