Jammu, May 29: A local court Wednesday awarded one year imprisonment to an RS Pura resident facing trial in an attack case.
Principal Sessions Judge Jammu VC Koul observed that the accused, Sonu alias Lundu, has committed offence punishable U/S 325 RPC for which he has been facing trial from 08.11.2013.
"Keeping in view the journey of trial of more than 05 years as well as the age of the accused, the adequate sentence commensurate with the level of his guilt would be simple imprisonment for a period of one year and fine of Rs 5000 u/s 325 RPC, and in case of default in payment of fine he shall undergo a further imprisonment for one month," the court ruled.
