NMC urges PM, FM to release pending installment of 4% DA

JAMMU, Feb 10: Urging Prime Minister's, Union Finance Minister's and Minister of State Finance in releasing the pending installment of 4% DA due from January1,2020 in favor of both central/States/UTs employees and pensioners, President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri urged them to take decision in this regard at the forthcoming Union cabinet meeting so that salaried class and pensioners would get sigh of relief from rising prices and inflation adding that price index which was 6.89 in June 30 last year increased to 12.49 percent in December 31,2019,this would be the 7th biannual increase since the recommendations of the 7th pay commission which was accepted by the Central Govt.in 2016. "Stressing on the need for early acceptance of Ashok Lavasa committee recommendations which was constituted in wake implementation of 7th pay commission by the central Govt. for removal pay anomalies in pay structure of lower class cadre had not been given any effect," Shastri said this while addressing a well attended NMC workers meet at Village Chohala in R.S. Pura. Ashok Lavasa committee in its report had proposed a minimum a minimum scale /pension of lower class cadre and pensioners from rupees 18000/- to rupees 21000/- he added.
Pleading the cause of several thousands of daily rated workers working in the various departments of the UTs Jammu & Kashmir, Shastri also appealed the Lt. Governor administration to ensure timely disbursement of long pending wages of these daily rated workers for years together so that this categories of working class in a position to celebrate upcoming festivals. He further hoped that UTs administration should also earmark separate wage heads for regularly disbursement of monthly wages of the daily rated workers till their regularization.
