DDC reviews works under SCA to TSS for developing cluster tribal village

KATHUA, Feb 10: District Development Commissioner, O P Bhagat today chaired a meeting to review the physical and financial achievements made under Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub Scheme for development of cluster model village Badnota of Billawar Sub Division and to finalize the revised DPR.
DDC said that focus should be laid on developmental programmes of schedule tribes with reference to their occupational pattern and the need for increasing the productivity and the income from their limited resources.
He further said that the Cluster Tribal Model Village is being developed to provide modern basic amenities and promote Education, Health, Skill Development, Horticulture, Agriculture, Tourism in the area with ST population so that they can have better basic amenities and opportunities to make their life better.
In the meeting DDC reviewed works under Education, Health, PDD, PHE, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Agriculture, Rural Development, PWD and Tourism sectors pertaining to the development of cluster tribal model village.
DDC directed all the concerned departments to gear up their man and machinery to execute all the remaining works and adopt convergence method for judicious use of allotted funds.
He also divulged that a camp will also held at Badnota wherein, all the concerned departments will showcase their progress under Tribal Village plan and suggestions will be sought from every stakeholder in finalizing this objective.
Later, the DDC also convened a meeting regarding development of Varun Dev Shrine, Ujh, Billawar to discuss several development projects related to the shrine.
Detail of funds available with the committee, relevant records regarding management of the shrine besides other issues were discussed in the meeting.
Committee members of the shrine submitted a charter of demands before the DDC. He assured the committee members that their demands will be fulfilled and directed the concerned officers to jointly visit the shrine area before preparing the DPR of desired works. The meeting was also attended by ADC Billawar, Sandesh Kumar, CPO, Uttam Singh, CMO, Dr. Ashok Chaudhary, CEO LSDA, D C Bhatti, CAO, Vijay Upadhaya, Engineers, AD Planning, Sidharth Anand, Tehsildar Ramkote, NT Gurha Kalyal and other concerned officers.
