Div Com reviews land cases of Railways, NHAI

JAMMU, Feb 10: Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Verma today directed district Administration Reasi and Ramban to early resolve all pending land acquisition cases of USBRL Project and National Highway Nashri to Banihal.
Div Com passed these directions while reviewing progress on land cases of Udhampur-Srinagar -Baramulla Rail Link Project and National Highway Nashri to Banihal.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer Northern Railway (USBRL), Regional Officer NHAI, SSP Traffic Jammu and other concerned officers while Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramban and Reasi along with other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.
A threadbare discussion was held on various land issues related to both the projects. The Div Com sought details of land acquisition cases, structure removal cases, tree cutting, disbursement of compensation in district Reasi and Ramban.
The ADC Reasi and Ramban informed about the progress on each case, status of tree felling and other issues.
It was further informed that in district Reasi almost all the cases have been resolved and final awards have been issued and disbursement of compensation amount to land owners is in progress.
The Div Com directed both district administrations to resolve the land acquisition cases, structure removal and disbursement of compensation to the beneficiaries and other bottleneck for smooth execution of work on both the prestigious project for their timely completion.
Earlier, in another meeting the Divisional Commissioner reviewed the progress on land acquisition and requisition cases of Army.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jammu, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Senior Army Officers and other concerned while Deputy Commissioner Kathua and Samba attended the meeting through video conferencing.
The DCs apprised the Div Com of present status of land requisition and acquisition cases in their respective districts.
The Div Com sought case wise details of land acquisition, requisition cases and asked the DCs for resolving all the pending cases of Army at the earliest. He also asked the DC Samba and Kathua to identify suitable land for firing ranges.
