Srinagar, June 30: With the union government having given one year extension to Additional Director of Police Law and Order, Muneer Ahmed Khan, the development is being seen as shot in the arm of Jammu and Kashmir Police for tackling militancy in restive Kashmir.
In an order issued by Mukesh Sawhney, Under Secretary at Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI, extension of services for one year has been granted Muneer Ahmed Khan IPS JK-1994, from the date of his superannuation that falls on June 30, 2019.
Khan, who is popularly known in the police and defence forces as 'Tiger' is seen among the successful officers in tackling restive Kashmir, especially after the unrest of 2016.
