Jammu, Apr 18: Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu, in collaboration with Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar is organizing an All India Art Exhibition at Amritsar. Art works of Artists from different states of the country are participating in this Exhibition. This exhibition is dedicated in the memory of late Gobind Kaur, a well known sculptor and print maker of the state and a student of VIdya Ratan Khajuria, a renowned sculptor of the state. Gobind Kaur is the first female sculptor of Jammu and has a fine stone carver in the art of sculpture. She has contributed a lot in the field of Sculpture in the country and was awarded and honoured for her work by a number of art organizations including J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Literature, Jammu and Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar. JKCCA in the past too has organized such events at different places in the country. The centre has also been organizing art camps workshops and exhibitions. According to OP Sharma, Director, JKCCA, Jammu, the centre is committed to promote the art, culture and literature in the state by organizing various programmes related to these activities. He has the view that such activities bring closer the artists community from different corner of the country and recognize the potential and talent of these artists. The painters who are participating in exhibition are Chandana Khan, Hyderabad, VS Rahi, Badal Chitrakar, ND Jamwal, TS Batra Bhushan Kesar, Jang S Verman, O P Sharma, Subhash Anand, Reecha Gupta and Amrit Kaur from Jammu, Dr. Mamta Singh, Dehradun, Pratima Singh, Lucknow, Nathu Lal Verma, Govind Srivastava, Aslam Naqshbandi, Prabhinder Lall, K S Gill, Dharmender Sharma, Neelima Gupta, Narinder Singh, Shantala Madhu, Bengaluro and Romika Bhasin. |
