Embarrassed Superintendent, Principal grill staff for media leak | Shutdown in GMC OT | | K Koushal Jammu, Apr 19: Rather than looking inward for the trivial administrative pitfall that forced shutdown of the Operation theater of the GMC, the Principal and the Medical Superintendent today grilled the staff for the media leak. Reacting to the news report titled "GMC's OT remains shut for 'non availability'of Diesel" carried by this newspaper under the previous day highlighting criminally callous approach of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) administration, Superintendent along with Principal paraded the entire concerned staff to investigate into the media leak that embarrassed the hospital administration. Highly placed sources in the hospital told Early Times that the Superintendent of the Hospital, Dr Ravinder Rattan Pal and Principal, Dr Shashi Gupta today questioned the staff of the hospital for hours rather than pondering over the cause of administrative failure. "They literally paraded hospital staff for the leakage of information. The administrators were concerned over the embarrassment caused to them rather than addressing the issue," said Source wishing anonymity. Taking dig at the hospital administration, source said that Superintendent and Principal of the hospital were indifferent to the repeated reminders for diesel, but now when things went into public domain they are crying foul and are holding staff responsible for the mess. It is pertinent to mention here that due to non availability of diesel for the Boiler, the operation theatre of the hospital remained shut for the entire day, resulting into postponement of eight major operations. |
