Tainted JKPCC resorts to lies to duck RTI query 4/18/2014 11:18:48 PM Bivek Mathur JAMMU, Apr 18: Tainted and shamed repeatedly for corruption, nepotism and misappropriation, Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation Limited (JKPCC) has resorted to lies and half truths to avert RTI query and disseminate relevant information to the seeker. In order to befool this RTI activist , the JKPCC has crossed all limits of non-seriousness saying it had not taken up any state or Central GovernmentS funded construction project during the year 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14. This illogical reply has been given by Unit-4 and Unit-2 of JKPCC in reply to an RTI query which it has received on 2-04-2014 seeking to know about construction works taken up by JKPCC through Asian Development Bank (ADB), state funded projects and Central Government funded projects during the year 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14 respectively. The activist had also sought to know about the expenditure incurred on these projects against the targeted expenditure with physical as well as financial achievements in the said period. In reply to this, these units have only replied about the ADB which reads as- "No Project has been taken up by these units with ADB funding during the year 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14 in Jammu division". Whereas, in the reply, there was no mentioning of projects taken up by state as well as Central funded projects which means it has not taken up any project with state and Central funded projects. Further, it has ducked query on financial and physical details. It may sound shocking to know that Unit-3rd has asked the activist to collect the same information from Planning and Finance Departments of the Government raising a serious question mark on the intent of these units of the Corporation.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
