NSUI supports BAJ for its protest against alleged harassment | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 18: National Students' Union of India (NSUI) extended its support to Bar Association of Jammu (BAJ) which is protesting for action against a police for allegedly harassing a lawyer in Jammu. Pertinent to mention here that an advocate namely Harshvardhan Gupta was allegedly harassed by Gandhi Nagar Police party at a routine naka during enhanced security following the different phases of ongoing Lok Sabha polls on Thursday. As per reports the advocate failed to provide documents of his vehicle when stopped in Nanak Nagar area by police, which led heated arguments between the two sides and BAJ members staged a protest alleging harassment. Addressing a media conference Avjyot Singh, State General Secretary NSUI and a student of Law Department in JU said that NSUI fully supports Bar Association Jammu (BAJ) for their demand against police action on a lawyer. "Being law students and representing students the NSUI extends the support of law department students to the Bar Association Jammu, he said. Nishant Gupta & Ranjodh Singh, State Secretaries NSUI, Sunny Parihar, District president NSUI Jammu & Sheetal Manhas also were present in this press conference. |
