General Category Welfare Forum holds meeting 8/20/2014 12:15:06 AM Early Times Report Baramulla, Aug 19: A meeting of members of General Category Welfare Forum was held today under the chairmanship of its President Syed Shamim Ahmad at Keriypa Park in district Baramulla of North Kashmir. A large number of delegates and members of the Jammu and Kashmir General Category Welfare Forum (JKGCWF) participated in the meeting, a threadbare discussion was held on various issues and forum leveled serious allegations against the state government regarding non implementation of the orders of the Supreme Court regarding caste based reservations in appointments and promotions. The participants not only criticized the government for promoting employees of various categories in excess to their population quota, but they pressed the government to revoke their decision in other spheres as well. They alleged that despite clear orders from the Honorable court regarding collection of cases data proving backwardness of each employee concerned the government had been promoting the employees without such data. President said in his statement that M.N.Nagraj Committee versus the union of India case, the Supreme Court had ordered that caste based promotions could only hamper the policies regarding Jammu and Kashmir in general and it could only be done if the government was able to prove the backwardness of the employees.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
