PHE employees vow to continue protests
`It is now or never situation for us'

Srinagar, Aug 19 : Continuing their protests since Eid, need based employees of PHE terming deadlines of the government ridiculous said that protests shall continue if their demands are not met. Hundreds of need base employees of Public Health Engineering (PHE) department Protested at many headquarters of Kashmir, police resorted to baton charge on the in Srinagar. Protesters who were heading towards Gupkar residence of the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah were stopped by police on road leading towards Gupkar near TRC and were chased away. "I don't understand how you define shame and how you define political system of Kashmir where Politicians have made our lives hell, they forced us t protest on Eid Day too when Muslims across the globe were celebrating it with their families, now we have decided Karo Ya Maro which include CM residence Gherao, hunger strike," said one Protestor working as Daily wager since 1992. According to reports protests were held from Anantnag, Pulwama and Kupwara districts were PHE employees chanted anti-government slogans. Talking to early Times, President Jammu and Kashmir National Trade union front and member of EJAC,Abdul Gafoor Dar said that 'Now we work on now or never policy as current coalition government is about to finish its term and we have decided that we will go to any extent until our demands are not fulfilled.' "On Independence day CM announced another ten days deadline which ends on August 25, as we know deadlines are proving useless so till 25 August too we will continue our Protests as per schedule like we did today across the state and if government once again failed then after August 25 we will suspend our work and employ all measures of Protests which means secretariat and CM Residence Gheraw and Hunger strike. He said that government must called cabinet immediately and fulfill the long pending demands of employees on priority bases as according to him all such protesting employees are working as need bases employees from last 20 to 25 years which is a record.
