ATS organizes workshop on effects of Electromagnetic Radiation 10/29/2014 10:51:09 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 29: Workshop on effects of Electromagnetic Radiation was organized at Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology. The speaker on the occasion was P.S. Khalsa in charge Apex Telecom Sector (J&K) organized seminar at YCET. He appraised the students about the harmful effects of Electromagnetic radiations caused by cell phones and other wireless equipments. Cell phones emit radiations and during use they are placed very close to head, these radiations are in direct contact with body tissues and the brain. There is a huge probability that part of these Radiations might be absorbed by the human body and these radiations have enough energy to rupture intra & inter-molecular links in the tissues and prolonged exposure can even lead to brain tumor. The usage of cell phones might have an adverse effect on the people who use them more frequently and for longer durations.
