SIC directs PHE authorities to make these records public | `Service book not a personal property of Govt employee' | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 29: While disposing off a case related to seeking copies of service book and qualification certificates of a retired employee of Public Health Engineering (PHE) , the State Information Commission (SIC) in its orders has directed the PHE authorities to provide the said information to an information seeker (RTI applicant). The SIC has further asked the PHE authorities to make the said documents public under section 4 (1) (b) of J&K RTI Act 2009. As per information available one Dr. Kanwal Singh S/o Sh. Gulzar Singh R/o Dub Karam Din, District Jammu moved an application dated 01-05-2013 before the Public Information Officer (PIO) in the office of Chief Engineer, Public Health Engineering Department, B.C. Road, Jammu under Jammu & Kashmir Right to Information Act, 2009 where-under he sought the certified copies of service book of one Shiv Kumar Sharma retired Drill Man who retired from the office of the Executive Engineer P.H.E. Ground Water Division Dhaunthly, Jammu. The RTI applicant also sought copies of the qualification certificates and first appointment order issued in favour of Kumar Sharma. |
