Durbar move: Rs 400 Crore financial loss to state annually alleges DKD | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Oct 29: Dogra Kranti Dal (DKD) held its meeting under the chairmanship of Raghubir Gandotra in which large number of members of Dogra Kranti Dal and prominent citizen of Udhampur participated and expressed their concerns over government expenditure worth crores spent on 'Durbar Move'- the biannually tradition. Speaking in the meeting Raghubir Gandotra said, "J&K is only state of Indian union where Civil Secretariat shift from Srinagar to Jammu in winter and Jammu to Srinagar in summer every year since 1872." "About approx. four hundred crore of rupees are spent for shifting of secretariat from one place to another while resulting inconvenience to employees as well as people of state also, he said and alleged that there is no official working during the month of shifting of secretariat and there is lot of financial loss to the state. Gandotra said that in the time of advance technology this system has become obsolete. So DKD demands to state government to create two secretariats i.e. one for Kashmir region and another for Jammu region. This system will be lesson the financial crisis in the state. This amount will be spent in the development of state, he added. He said some political parties and our chief minister of state himself also have opposed this obsolete system sometimes. DKD appeals to all the social political and non political organization of the state to pressurize the state as well as central govt to abolish this obsolete system of |
