Srinagar, Nov 10: Days after pictures of National Conference leader's son brandishing an AK-47 went viral on internet in Kashmir, pictures of a lawmaker from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) holding a gun and dressed as a policeman are making rounds on the social networking websites. The photo put up on the Facebook page of the PDP MLA from Chadoora constituency in central KahsmirJavid Mustafa Mir shows him holding a gun and wearing khaki bullet proof jacket. The PDP leader has posted many images brandishing a pistol, gun and wearing khaki. People from his constituency said that whenever the MLA visits his area, he brandishes the gun like a policeman. "I have often seen him wearing khaki caps, jackets and holding a gun. It seems he is fond of swirling gun in air," one of his supporters said. Moat netizens were critical and condemned the lawmaker for exemplary display of power. MudasirRaina, a netizen, commented on one of the gun-brandishing pictures: "Doing nothing for his constituency. Wearing army jackets does not make a person honest. He (MLA Sahab) should do what he is meant for". Another Facebook user, Dar Nissar wrote: "The Don MLA". Most of the Facebook users however described Mir as good MLA but sharply reacted against his style of acting like a cop. Javid Mustafa Mir while reacting to the developments said: "I carry weapon for my protection. It is only for self-defense and nothing else," he said. Pertinently pictures of National Conference leader NasirAslamWani's son brandishing a gun had become viral in Kashmir.
