20 complaints received from 51-Kishtwar, 52-Inderwal
2 Cops attached for violating MCC

Kishtwar, Nov 10: Tightening its nose around the employees engaged in political campaigning in support of various political parties, mostly for ruling party candidate Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo (NC), Sg.St Javed Ahmed (I/C Police Post Sounder Dachhan) was attached with office of Dy. SP Operation Kishtwar along with another cop identified as Constable GhulamNabi. The attachment of the two cops by senior police officer comes in wake of the complaint made by the BJP that both the police personals were involved in campaigning in support of NC candidate Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo.
According to reports, 20 complaints were received at election complaint cell Kishtwar which include 9 complaints from 51-Kishtwar constituency and 11 from 52-Inderwal constituency. Among the 20 complaints, 13 complaints were disposed off with necessary action in certain cases while in some cases, the complaints were found as baseless. In addition to the complaints, District Statical& Surveillance teams also seized 4.60 lac cash during checking and Nakkas, beside over 10000 CGI Sheets meant for the distribution among the people of Marwah, Warwan, Dachhan and Palmar was also seized by the concern officials on the directions of District Election Officer Kishtwar.
Meanwhile BJP had formally lodged a written complaint against 28 government employees with District Election Officer Kishtwar and demanded action against them for violating Model Code of Conduct. The employees include Javed Ahmed (IC PP Sounder Dachhan), Pyare Lal (Teacher LoharnaDachhan), Mohammad Iqbal (CA&PD Sounder), Shanti Dhar (Junior Assistant BDO Office Dachhan), Vijay Kumar (R&B Dachhan), Sanjay Kumar (Teacher Dachhan), Lekh Raj (Health Department Dachhan), Tulsi Das, Subash Kumar, Mohammad Abbas all VLWs posted in Dachhan block, SajjadHussain (Medical Assistant PHC Dachhan), Farooq Ahmed (MPW Dachhan), Mohammad Ashraf (Block Dachhan), Mohammad ShafiWani (J&K Bank Marwah), Dilshad Ahmed Sheikh, GhulamRasool Lone both VLWs posted in Marwah block, GhulamNabi (JKP Tiller Marwah), Zakir Hussain, Raiz Ahmed both Night Chowkidar with CA&PD Marwah, Raiz Ahmed, Talib Malik both employees with RDD Block Marwah, Mohammad Yousaf Sheikh (PHE employee), Milki Ram (ZEO Warwan), GhulamMohudin Mehroo (Teacher Warwan), Abdul Rehman Lone (Stock Assistant at Animal Husbandry Department Afti), Ghulam Nabi Lone (NaibTehsildar/IC TehsildarWarwan) and Haroon (JE RRD Warwan). The complaint against these employees was made by senior BJP leader retired Capt Hukam Chand.
National Conference through senior party leader Shabir Ahmed Kamal also made complaint against NaibTehsildar DachhanSaroop Chand and NaibTehsildarLopara Shanti Saroop alleging that both the revenue officials were involved in campaigning for BJP.
After receiving the complaints, DEO Kishtwar Mohammad Javed Khan directed the concern officials to investigate the allegations leveled by various political parties against MCC violations by employees so that the necessary action against them could be initiated.
It is pertinent to mention that BJP also submitted a written complaint to Election Commission of India against District Election Officer (DEO) Kishtwar and six other in which the party alleges that the DEO Kishtwar favors the National Conference candidate from Kishtwar and at the same time turned blind eye towards MCC violations done by the NC leadership of Kishtwar. After verifying the complaint and inquiry conducted by Chief Electoral Officer J & K, the allegations against DEO Kishtwar could not be established and accordingly the complaint lodged by BJP against DEO Kishtwar was dismissed.
