The party MLA from ReasiBaldev Raj Sharma is trying to seek mandate from PDP or contest as independent while the MLA R S Pura, Prof Garu Ram is yet to take a final decision. However, the BJP MLA from Raipur Damana Bharat Bushan has given up the idea to join NPP on the persuasion of senior party leaders in the state. There is also dissidence in Udhampur where senior Party leader, Pawan Gupta is all set to contest the elections as independent against the BJP's official candidate after denial of ticket to him by BJP High Command. In Billawar the BJP activists have warned to go on indefinite fast in case an outsider is thrust upon them while there is also a brewing resentment in Reasi unit of party against the fielding of a weak candidate. The BJP leader GirdhariLal who had filed papers on party ticket from Ramban constituency by manipulating the mandate in his favour after the party rejected his nomination as candidate today joined NC.
