Modi Government encashing Congress works : Madan

Akhnoor, Nov 10 : Veteran Congress leader and former minister & MP MadanLal Sharma today said that Modi led government at Center is trying to encash the major works done by the Congress led consecutive Governments in the past.
While addressing a series of public meetings at Gurha Brahmana east, Gurha Brahmana West, Kot Ghari in Akhnoor Constituency, senior Congress leader said that Swachh Bharat Abiyaan was an initiative of UPA Government and was earlier called as total Sanitation campaign and now Nirmal Bharat Abiyaan . Justifying his words Madan said that Congress had done tremendous developmental works but could not popularize in the shape of a corporate campaign which BJP is doing as Congress focus was on development and not on visibility. Former MP also maintained that the 'Acche din' slogan of BJP is not visible till date as poor people are still living miserable life. Ex-MP said that during his tenure as works Minister of the State he has ensured equal allocation of funds to Jammu & Kashmir Region for the first time similarly Sham Lal Sharma PHE Minister has taken Akhnoor towards a model and best constituency of the State which earlier was ignored and neglected. Seeking votes for Sham Lal Sharma, former Congress MP appealed the people to vote Sham Lal Sharma and to send him in the state cabinet to complete the pending works. Kuldeep Raj Verma vice chairman OBC also addressed the gatherings and appealed them to cast their vote for Shri Sham Lal Sharma PHE Minister for overall development of Akhnoor Constituency.
Prominent among others present on the occasion includes Baldev Raj Sharma, Working President Congress Akhnoor, Rattan Lal Sharma, Secy Ram Dass ,Member SC Adv. Board, Ashok Tinnu, Genl. Secy. Youth Cong. Akhnoor, SarpanchShemsher Singh and many others.
