Kishtwar, Dec 12: Chinar Power Projects Workers Union (CPPWU) Kishtwar demanded resumption of work on Rattle Project on Friday. According to press release, a meeting was held today under the Chairmanship of Joginder Bhandari. The meeting attended by large number of unemployed youths all over from District Kishtwar attended the meeting. In the meeting various issues related to the absorption of unemployed youths in Rattle H.E project was discussed. The participants in their speeches strongly criticized the management of M/s GVK Power Development for suspending their work over the said project without reason. "The decision made management has left hundreds of workers working in the project have become jobless and there is no one in the government to ask them as to why they suspended work over the said project", he said, adding that it was a prestigious project whose foundation stone was laid by Manmohan Singh, the then Prime Minister of India. The former Prime Minister had assured that local unemployed youths of District Kishtwar would be given first priority of employment in said project but it is a matter of great concern that the executing agency stopped its work over the said project on July 11, 2014 without showing any solid reason for the stoppage of the Work. He has threatened to come out on the road in case the work is not resumed at an earliest. The work of the project has been stopped by the company itself and there is no fault of the workers.
