Days of bad governance to go: Asserts Malhotra to voters | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 12 : Alleging that National Conference has failed to come to the expectations of the masses in the State, Congress Candidate from Jammu east Assembly constituency, Vikram Malhotra today said that J&K has passed through the worst ever period during the last six years. If there is anything described as bad governance, the people of J&K had experienced it 'and enough of it' in the last six years, he added. Malhotra said the situation arose because all the development agenda initiated by the Congress during its tenure in 2005 had to experience roadblocks created by the NC during present coalition regime. He said while in coalition also if Congress proposed something for betterment of the people, the NC disposed it and created hurdles. Malhotra also blamed the PDP and the BJP for dividing the people on communal lines just for the sake of votes and hence spoiling the secular atmosphere of the state. Expressing hope of his getting elected, he said, "If I am elected, I will ensure that your bad days are gone. 'Agar Vikram Malhotra jeet gaya to samajh lijye burre din jaane wale hai', he told the voters during a campaign today. Making a scathing attack on PDP and BJP, Vikram said that PDP is the party which only banks on Kashmir while BJP is there only for the rich and upper class. Both these parties can not take all the people and regions together, whereas Congress is the only party which works for all the regions of the state and sections of the society, he added. The Congress leader further said that Jammu east has lacked behind in the field of development. The condition of roads, link roads, lanes and drains has gone from bad to worst. The Constituency Development Fund remained under utilized by the BJP legislator and hence there was every possibility that same was misused while the public kept on suffering for the want of better amenities and facilities. |
