Jammu, Dec 12: A day long workshop on SHG-Bank Linkage was organized today by JKSRLM (UMEED), Jammu at JKEDI, Jammu in which Bankers from various regions of Jammu, Samba, Rajouri, Kathua, Udhampur, Doda and Kishtwar participated. Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu chaired the workshop in which senior functionaries and bank managers of RBI, SBI, J&K Bank, EDB, PNB, Cooperative Banks and NABARD participated. BPMs from various blocks of UMEED and Community members were also present. Chairperson Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Shantmanu felicitated the best performing bankers (4 each from Basholi and Chenani) in respect of disbursement of bank loan @ Rs. 50,000 per SHG from Basholi and Chenani. Earlier at the onset of occasion, State Mission Director, UMEED, Farooq Ahmed Peer while speaking on the occasion said that till date Rs 6 crore Bank loan has been disbursed among 1200 Self Help Groups. A K Angural from RBI gave the presentation on frame work for SHG Bank linkage while Ranbir Singh, GM, NABARD also gave the presentation on experience in SHG Bank Linkage. Rajan Babu, from National Mission Management Unit (NMMU), Delhi gave the presentation on Block Level Planning for SHG-Bank linkage. State Representative NRLM, Dr Yogita Rana shared community perspective on SHG bank linkage and shared community experiences with the bankers. Additional Mission Director UMEED Jammu, Dr Arun Manhas gave presentation on community based recovery mechanism of bank loan. In the end SPM (Financial Inclusion) UMEED, Madan Gupta presented vote of thanks to the gathering.
