Jammu, Feb 12: As a part of birth centenary celebrations of Padmashree Prof.Ramnath Shastri, the beacon of Duggar, Radio Kashmir Jammu in collaboration with Dogri Sanstha Jammu organized a Dogri Kavi Sabha in memory of legendary Dogri poet and writer. A jam packed K.L.Sehgal Hall bore testimony to the fact that Prof. Shastri has special place in the hearts of Jammuites and the love of poetry is embedded deep in the hearts of the people. The poets who graced the symposium included N.D.Jamwal, Jitendra Udhampuri, Sitaram Sapolia, Gyaneshwar, Darshan Darshi, Prof. Shivdev Singh, Sanjay Vidrohi, Vijaya Thakur, Usha Kiran,Balwan Singh Jamoria, Kuldeep Kippi, O.P.Sharma Vidyarthi, & Rattan Bhardwaj. Parkash Premi conducted the Goshthi. Prof. Shastri has contributed significantly to Dogri literature through his monumental works containing books of short stories, poems, Ghazals, one act plays and full length plays, and penned down many radio plays. Station Director, Radio Kashmir Jammu V.K. Sambyal remembered the colossal of modern Dogri language and literature, Late Padmashree Prof. Ramnath Shastri. The audience applauded the role of Radio Kashmir Jammu in highlighting the contributions of legendary poet/writer to society and language. Programme Executive, Radio Kashmir Jammu, Anjana Badyal read out the paper on Life and Works of Late Prof. Ram Nath Shastri. President, Dogri Sanstha, Chhattarpal shared his views about the 'Nayak' of modern Dogri with the audience present on the occasion. |
