NPP stages protest for revision of passengers fare | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Feb 12: National Panthers Party (NPP) today held a protest demonstration at Udhampur city and blocked the National Highway for several hours to lodge their strong resentment against the failure of authorities to revise the passenger fares. Hundreds of party activists led by Balwant Singh Mankotia Ex-MLA and State Preident NPP raised slogans against the State administration and sought immediate reduction transport charges and passenger fares. Addressing the gathering, Mankotia said that despite decline in the global prices of petrol and diesel, the state administration had failed to reduce the passenger fares and to fix them in conformity with the reduced oil prices. He said that not only the common man but also the students and employees were the worst sufferers of the government's apathy. He also flayed the transporters for denying student concession to the students travelling as per prescribed standard procedures. Instead of providing relief to the people the government is levying huge electricity duties and other taxes from them.He said that Panthers party shall fight for the justice and rights of the people and ensure that timely justice i delivered to them, He exhorted the authoritie to revoke the revised electricity fare in the interest of the masses. |
