CCI holds emergency meeting | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 12 : In an urgent meeting held today at Chamber House, President Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI) Rakesh Gupta has taken a serious view to the sanctioning of 16400KW power connection in favour of M/s Mir Steel Rolling Mills at I.G.C Lassipura Pulwama vide order no DC/PD/TO-I/156/314-15 dated 19-07-2014 by the Development Commissioner Power. Gupta said that it was in total violation of government order no 72-PDD of 2010 dated 03-03-2010 regarding Ban on power connections for use of electric induction and Arc furnaces by the Industrial units. A Communication has also been sent to the Raj Bhawan regarding the same issue. CCI has written to Governor that Development Commissioner Power J&K has sanctioned a Power Connection of 16400KW in favour of M/s Mir Steel Rolling Mills at I.G.C Lassipura Pulwama vide order no DC/PD/TO-I/156/314-15 dated 19-07-2014 which is in total violation of ban order on power connections for use of electric induction and Arc furnaces by the Industrial units issued by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir vide government order no 72-PDD of 2010 dated 03-03-2010. CCI in the written order has also mentioned that not only the said officers have done the same in violation of the ban on power connections for the said purpose but also are going against the interim orders of the High Court dated 29-08-2014 of Jammu & Kashmir. CCI has requested the Governor to pass on the necessary instructions to the concerned authorities not to allow the physical connection to the said rolling mill and also hold an urgent enquiry through officers of integrity and at the same time pass on necessary orders to hand over the said case to the Police Crime Branch / Police Vigilance/ State Accountability Commission or any other authority. |
