JAMMU, Feb 20: Department of Tourism and Travel Management organised two-day National Tourism Entrepreneurship Development summit (NTEDS)-2015 at Central University of Jammu to create awareness about entrepreneurial opportunities available for the students pursuing different tourism programmes in universities and institutions across the country. During NTEDS-2015, fifteen teams across the country including IITTM, Gwalior; Banaras Hindu University; Himachal Pradesh Central University; IGNTU, Amarkantak; University of Jammu; IITTM, Delhi, HNB Garhwal University; Maharaja Agrasen University, Central University of Jammu, etc. participated in the Summit. Prof. S. P Bansal, VC, Maharaj Aggarsen University, the keynote speaker emphasised that there was intense need to project India's image from 'Incredible India' to 'Credible India'. He narrated many case studies about the success of social entrepreneurship in Himachal Pradesh and other parts of India. An MoU was signed between Department of Tourism and Travel Management and Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), New Delhi by Gaur Kanjilal, Executive Director, IATO and Prof. Deepak Raj Gupta, Head, Department of Tourism and Travel Management, CUJ. Another MoU was signed between Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Jammu and CUJ by Rakesh Gupta, President, CCI, and Prof. Deepak Raj Gupta. The maiden issue of Departmental Newsletter "TRAVELISM'' was released on this occasion. 'Travelism' seeks to carry the message of Department of Tourism & Travel Management to the stakeholders. It aims to serve as a forum for academician, researchers and students exploring all aspects of tourism, The VC, CUJ, Prof. Devanand appreciated the efforts of the Department of Tourism and Travel Management and congratulated Prof. Gupta for the achievements. He said that the summit will provide platform for the students of the travel management to showcase their innovative and management skills. He wished the summit a great success. |
