Kishtwar municipality's casual labourers without salary | Principal Secretary finance assures release of money | | Asif Iqbal Naik

Kishtwar, Feb 20 : The causal laborers working in Municipal Committee Kishtwar threatened strike from Monday in case the department failed to release their seven month salary. While talking to Early times, the angry employees informed that despite repeated assurances by the department and government from time to time, their salaries have not been released for the past seven months. They said that regular employees of the department are also without salary since last three months and demanded immediate release of the pending salaries, added that in case the department fail to release the salary, they will again chose the agitating path. "Out of 37 MCs falling in Jammu province, the salary of only Kishtwar MC is pending--- can anyone answer why there is injustice only with us," said an angry employee. He said that they approached the Director Housing and Urban Development Department Jammu for release of salaries, adding that the director while distancing himself threw the ball into Principle Secretary Finance Court with the excuse that the money sanctioned on account of salary for Kishtwar Municipal Committee was held up by finance department. He assured them release of salary if the Committee got the money from finance department. When contacted B B Vyas Principle Secretary Finance assured that the sanctioned amount held up by the finance department will be released by Monday. |
