Legal Metrology department books erring traders in Leh, recovers fine

SRINAGAR, Feb 20: Continuing its action against the erring traders the Legal Metrology department booked some traders in the Leh district of Ladakh region and recovered penalty from them as well.
A spokesman of the department said that enforcement staff of Legal Metrology Department, Leh under the supervision of Joint Controller, Legal Metrology Kashmir conducted market checking at various places of Leh town and its surrounding areas including Choglamsar, Shey, Thiksay, Skalzangling, LPG Bottling plant Phaying and Flour Mill Phaying.
The spokesman said that the staff registered six cases against the erring traders for violation of different sections of Legal Metrology Act/Rules and a penal sum of Rs. 6,500 was slapped on the defaulters.
