Jammu, Mar 16: Hockey Jammu and Kashmir has been entrusted with the task to hold Sub-Junior and Junior National Hockey Championship by the Hockey India in the month of May. And, to look into the preparations on ground, the Hockey J&K held a meeting of the office bearers, sans general secretary, Romal Singh. The meeting was chaired by the working president, ADGP Armed, SM Sahai at meeting hall of the Armed Police Headquarters, here yesterday. Discussing various aspects of the competition, including preparations of the competitive state teams, the working president asked the executive members, who represent different districts, to look into the talented stuff and groom them into strong sides. Number of other issued also came up for discussion among the members and it was resolved to work as a cohesive team to rejuvenate the game of hockey in Jammu and Kashmir. The ADGP said that Hockey J&K shall immediately start talent hunt exercises across the State and new players be registered as per the latest guidelines of Hockey India. "To explore fresh talent and register new players from every district of the State is a must exercise, which has to be taken in hand for improvement of the game and to encourage the talent", he maintained. Among others, who attended the meeting were associate vice president Hockey J&K, IGP Armed, Mukesh Singh, senior vice president, Jaswant Singh, vice president, Sham Lal, G S Bakshi, Rajinder Singh, Kuldeep Handoo, Charanjeet Singh, Dalbir Mahila and Joginder Singh. |
