MENDHAR, Mar 16: A forest guard was last night apprehended by police from a passenger bus near Bhimber Gali here for allegedly abducting a 12th class girl student. The girl, who was also travelling with him, was freed from his clutches, according to police sources. Nahim Mustafa, a forest guard, who at present is posted at Srinagar, hails from Ari here. He allegedly abducted the girl from near her residence at Kotan, Mendhar, about three days back and then took her to Jammu where he kept her in a rented house, sources added. Acting on a tip-off that he was yesterday coming back home at Ari in a passenger bus along with the girl, police intercepted the vehicle at Bhimber Gali and arrested the accused. The girl was restored to her parents after her medical examination in a local hospital. The accused was booked by Mendhar police under sections 376, 366 and 342 of RPC. |
