Jammu, Feb 3: The state vigilance commission, taking a strong note of illegal promotions allegedly made by the department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) in favour of some physical education teachers of Poonch, has summoned the YSS director general. A complaint was lodged with SVC regarding the alleged elevation of some physical education teachers (PETs) as masters in Poonch by the YSS department in utter violation of the standing norms and in connivance with officials of the concerned department in quid-pro-quo without fulfilling the required conditions meant for promotions thereof. Taking cognizance of the complaint, SVC sought report from the commissioner of technical education department and YSS. The report, submitted before the commission, prima-facie portrayed that by taking excuse of floods for non-availability of the requisite records, the matter kept tossing from one office to another for the last couple of years without any fruitful and prolific progress actually made out in this sensitive issue. The SVC, while taking a serious note of the alleged malafide approach adopted by the officers at the helm of affairs of the YSS department, has sought personal appearance of YSS Director before the commission on the next date of hearing to elucidate the facts and those responsible for illegal promotions.
