Dr Farooq dances with Ranveer Singh on Malhari | Masha Allah Nazar Na Lag Jaye, says PDP | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Feb 3: Former Chief Minister and National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah who on Tuesday evening showed some of his finest dance moves in the national capital with Bollywood star Ranveer Singh on the tunes of "Malhari", has got appreciation from far and wide including betenoire Peoples Democratic Party. As soon as Ranveer Singh pranced his way towards the stage for the Entertainer of the Year award, on one of the tracks of "Bajirao Mastani", Dr Abdullah joined him on the stage. The duo's impromptu dance came as a surprise for the audience, including Omar Abdullah who was also present on the occasion. "Rather than a politician I would love to be an actor. You know why because what they do what we don't do and I would love to do what he does. I will have to wait for the next life," he said with a smile towards Ranveer. To this Ranveer replied, "I think Mr (Amitabh) Bachchan would be in trouble if you took to acting". This afternoon, PDP spokesman Naeem Akhter took to social media to hail Dr Abdullah for the stage performance. "Masha Allah! Nazar Na lag Jaye. Wish Dr Abdullah a long and healthy life. Have enjoyed over last three decades my love hate relation with him. Gracious of him he never confronted me personally or showed disrespect even as he was aware of my views and was part of his administration. May he continue to add colour to our political landscape for a long time," Naeem who had been a bureaucrat before joining PDP, posted on Facebook. Naeem, who during his service tenure had been reportedly writing under various ghost names mostly against Abdullahs, sought voluntary retirement from the Government services in 2009, when Omar Abdullah took over as the Chief Minister. Meanwhile, confessing his love for Bollywood, Dr Abdullah said if not a politician then he would have explored the world of showbiz. |
