Katra, Feb 3: The pilgrimage from holy town Katra to Ransoo has always been hard. But the the district administration chipped in with reforms to ease the flow of the tourists keeping their comfort in mind.
Usually the run from Katra to Ransoo main stop was being withheld earlier by the busses and tempo travellers ferrying their passengers to and fro as the pilgrims had to alight at the bus stand Ransoo, some two and half kilometers short of the main Ransoo town.
The tourist as well as the pilgrims had to undertake the journey on their own that was full of hardship and also impediment to the flourishing business of the town.
The residents as well as the shop keepers were of the opinion that their business was suffering as the villagers who used to alight at the bus stand used to take along the household chores from the bus stand itself while the main bazaar shopkeepers had to remain onlookers only.
Also the residents of the town used to lament that after alighting at the bus stand only, they had to walk on foot or option for other means, if available, to reach to their destinations as well as the homes.
The residents of Ransoo recently had put up the case with the district administration headed by District commissioner Sushma Chauhan with a plea that their miseries be resolved and buses and matadors be put in place from Katra straight to their home town in Ransoo so that they could be saved of the hardships.
These residents were joined in by the business dealers of the area also as they were also grievance their business had come to stand still while the passengers had to alight two and half km short of the Ransoo town which was denting their profession.
Acting on their grievances promptly, the District Commissioner Reasi, Sushma Chauhan today released an order for the transport department to act swiftly and ensure running of vehicles upto last point at Ransoo , thus bypassing the bus stand.
Sushma Chauhan's order was copied to SSP IPS Sujit Kumar, ARTO Reasi, and ASP Reasi for quick action.
The new order contains release of Tat Indica, Qualis, Tata Winger, Tavera and Tempo Traveler to move upto the last point carrying the passengers in the Ransoo town.
As per the new order, now the buses inclusive of four seaters to 13 seatres would move directly to the Ransoo town.
The residents in a unanimous decision have extended their gratitude to DC Reasi Sushma Chauhan as well as SSP Reasi IPS Sujit Kumar for relieving of the grievances of the people.
